TSBT21: Mastering the Art
Code and Art
My dearest gentlest reader,
This week started on a high note. I was named a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional and received an award for it. I am so excited about it. I hope to continue doing the good work with your help, of course, and sharing it with my favorite people (ps:🤫: you). If you enjoy reading this newsletter and my articles, it's about to be a wild ride for us. Share this newsletter with your friend; good things are meant to be shared.
All the readily available information about Kubernetes creates an overwhelming learning experience. While official documentation is a starting point, it often requires further simplification. YouTube is another option, but sifting through countless videos to find valuable content can be equally time-consuming. Learning is already a hustle. That is why I share resources with you every week to help you sift out what's vital. I have discovered a resource in particular for DevOps. This course is completely free and has a structure; the only thing you use other than the internet is your time and practice. We all love free resources, but I would also encourage you that if the resource ends up helping you, pay it forward by sharing it or buying the author coffee. The author is Sid Palas. It's free because somebody else paid for it. The author put in work to make it worth it. I hope this helps you understand DevOps better.
My friend Tim Schilling wrote about his unsung developer thoughts. I like this piece because it highlights the processes when you are building software in a team setting. The article goes through a list of items from code reviews, feature requests, testing, and deployment. I intend to use the article as a list with checkboxes and go through the steps for any new projects or legacy projects I come across.
Flash is the fastest man alive, fictionally, of course. We all want our food fast, our time slow, and our code to be very fast and efficient. Here are common ways to make your website as fast as Flash.

The word of the day is anachronism. Anachronism refers to something out of the place for the time period. Example in a sentence: The Starbucks coffee cup in a Game of Thrones episode was a glaring anachronism.
